A few days ago, the National Tenth Five-Year Plan focused on key scientific and technological research projects. The study on the extraction of potassium sulfate and potassium nitrate by seawater and bitter brines has passed the acceptance of the Ministry of Science and Technology in Tianjin. The subject was chaired by Professor Yuan Junsheng from Hebei University of Technology. After three years of efforts, the 300 tons/year pilot trial of potassium sulfate and the 200 tons/year pilot trial of potassium nitrate were successfully completed, breaking through the economic benefits of potassium extraction from seawater. This world-wide problem has resulted in the development of a new technology for the extraction of potassium sulfate from seawater and bittern from zeolites with proprietary intellectual property rights in China, and a technology for the extraction of potassium nitrate from seawater by the zeolite method. The results of this project provide a new way for the development of abundant marine potash fertilizer resources and solutions to the urgent needs of domestic agriculture, and provide technical support for improving the technical and economic level of China's traditional sea salt and salt chemical industry, making full use of sea salt bittern resources, and reducing marine environmental pollution. .
