Google Glass is a revolutionary smart eyewear device that integrates smart phone functions and requires no hands to operate. It has also been used in medical research in recent years. At present, the accuracy of using Google glasses for remote ECG transmission and diagnosis remains inconclusive, affecting its application in emergency medicine.
Jeroudi and Brilakis of the Texas Health Care System and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, and the University of Texas Health Science Center's Foster School of Medicine conducted a study evaluating the use of Google Glass to remotely transmit ECGs. Research on the accuracy of diagnosis, research papers have been accepted by The American Journal of Cardiology.
The study selected 10 electrocardiograms from the book "The Complete Guide to ECGs", including anterior/inferior myocardial infarction, anterior myocardial infarction, complete left bundle branch block, pericarditis, and old inferior myocardial infarction. Infarction, Mohs type I atrioventricular block, paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia, ventricular tachycardia, ventricular fibrillation and atrial flutter, a total of 21 features. The accuracy of the diagnosis was measured by scoring, and each feature was rated as 1 point. Only the main features were diagnosed to score, and the secondary features and diagnostic errors were not scored.
Twelve doctors read the electrocardiogram and gave a diagnosis in four different ways, namely, 1. Reading on the Google glasses screen; 2. Using the Google glasses camera (pictured on Figure 1) to take the ECG and put it on the mobile device (Apple) , iphone5, 4 inch display, 640 * 1136 pixel resolution, 326 pixels per inch. Figure 1 below) read; 3, directly read the paper ECG; 4, use the high-resolution camera to take the ECG and put it on the mobile device Read on.

The results showed that the diagnostic scores after reading the ECG in the above four ways were 13.5 ± 1.8, 16.1 ± 2.6, 18.3 ± 1.7 and 18.6 ± 1.5 respectively. 9 doctors (75%) were not satisfied with the quality of the electrocardiogram displayed on the Google glasses screen, 10 A doctor (83%) believes that reading the ECG on the Google Glass screen is not reliable.
