Watermelon Variety - Jingxin No. 1
Jingxin No. 1 is a vegetable variety developed by the Beijing Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences' Vegetable Research Center. It received national approval in 2002, with the official registration number 2002046. This early-maturing variety is highly favored among farmers for its adaptability and high yield. The entire growth cycle lasts approximately 90 to 95 days, with fruit development taking around 28 to 30 days. The fruits are round in shape, featuring a green outer skin coated with a thin layer of white wax. They display distinct 15 to 17 green stripes, and the flesh is pink in color. Each fruit typically weighs between 5 to 6 kilograms, with a center sugar content of about 11%.
This variety exhibits strong resistance to wilt disease and anthrax, making it suitable for cultivation in various environments such as greenhouses, large and medium-sized sheds, and open fields with mulching. Farmers can expect yields of 700 to 800 plants per acre, with an average production of around 3,800 kilograms per mu. Its resilience, combined with good fruit quality and manageable growth period, makes Jingxin No. 1 a popular choice for both commercial and small-scale farming operations. Whether you're growing in controlled or open conditions, this variety offers reliable performance and excellent returns.
