Pregnant cow clinical medication attention

After the cow is pregnant, certain physiological changes occur in various organs. The response to drugs is not exactly the same as that of unpregnant cows. The distribution and metabolism of drugs are also affected by pregnancy. Therefore, irrational use of drugs in pregnant animals will lead to embryonic death, miscarriage, stillbirths and fetal malformations, resulting in iatrogenic diseases.

1. When the pregnant cow takes drugs for treatment of the disease, first consider the effect of the drugs on the embryos and the fetus whether they have direct or indirect serious harm. The second is whether the drug has side effects and toxic effects on the cow.

2. Precautions should be used with caution in the early stages of treatment. When diseases must be used, commonly used drugs that do not cause early embryonic death and teratogenic effects can be used.

3, pregnant cattle dose should not be too large, the time should not be too long, so as not to impair the accumulation of drugs and the embryo and the fetus.

4, pregnant cattle should be used with caution, general anesthetics, insect repellents and diuretics. Drugs that directly or indirectly affect reproductive function, such as prostaglandins, adrenocorticotropic hormone, adrenocorticotropic hormone, and estrogen, are banned. Drugs that use uterine contractions, such as oxytocin, posterior pituitary preparations, ergot, carbamylcholine, and pilocarpine, are strictly prohibited. Use traditional Chinese medicine should be banned blood stasis, gas stagnation, Xin hot, sliding Chinese medicine, such as pink, safflower, aconite and so on. The use of Yunnan Baiyao and dexamethasone should also be used with caution.

5, medication must consider whether the drug has potential harm to the embryo and the fetus, but to change the kind of thinking that "pregnant animal drugs are harmful" point of view. Delaying the treatment of pregnant cows for the safety of embryos and fetuses will damage the health of cows and cause the death of both cows and fetuses. Therefore, pregnant cows should be actively treated with drugs to ensure the health of the mother, and strive to use the drug no serious harm to the embryo and fetus.
