The most commonly used and most effective cow estrus method

Aphrodisiac breeding methods for non-estrus cows can effectively induce estrus and improve mating success. There are three commonly used approaches, each with its own benefits and application process. The first method involves the use of hormone-based aphrodisiacs. For cows that are not showing signs of estrus, a variety of estrogen injections can be administered. The recommended dosages include: 20–25 mg of estradiol benzoate, 25–30 mg of conjugated equine estrogen, 25–30 mg of diethylstilbestrol, or 40–50 mg of diphenol ethane. In some cases, up to 3–5 grams of hormonal compounds may be used. These substances help stimulate the cow's reproductive system, leading to visible estrus behavior within a few days. The second approach is based on the use of urine from pregnant women, particularly those who have been pregnant for more than six months. This natural method requires collecting 100 ml of morning urine, mixing it with 3 ml of 0.5% carbonic acid solution, boiling the mixture, filtering it, and then using it as an aphrodisiac. Non-estrus cows are typically injected subcutaneously every other day, with a dose of 35–40 ml each time. After three administrations spaced over several days, the cow should show signs of estrus and be ready for mating. The third method utilizes traditional Chinese herbal remedies. A common formula includes 30 grams of motherwort, 24 grams of pumpkin leaves, 15 grams of safflower, and a small amount of Jianshui (a type of medicinal clay). This mixture is given orally to the cow. Another option is to prepare a decoction using 0.5 kg of old date tree bark, 1 kg of brown sugar, and 3 kg of water. This is administered twice daily, either in the morning or evening, and can be continued for 2–3 days. This method is known for its effectiveness in promoting estrus and improving fertility rates. These three methods offer different options depending on availability, cost, and the specific needs of the herd. It is important to follow proper administration procedures and consult with a veterinarian to ensure safety and optimal results. With the right approach, non-estrus cows can be successfully induced into estrus and achieve successful breeding.
