Humans create a new medical anti-day life form: it can resist all viruses

Researchers at Harvard Medical School have just made a huge breakthrough, which proves that human beings are only a stone's throw away from the role of God.

After making more than 62,000 modifications to the genome of E. coli, the researchers are equivalent to recreating a new life form. This new "super microbe" is different from life in nature, it can resist all known viruses, and it will also be able to make proteins that have never been seen in nature, New Scientist reports.

This new microbe is just the beginning. Researchers hope to eventually reorganize the entire human genome in the same way, creating a "superman" that can resist all pathogens.

“Other project teams say that our projects are so expensive that no one wants to pay, or it can't be done at all,” said lead researcher George Church. Normal organisms use up to 20 natural amino acids in the synthesis of proteins, but Church's recombinant E. coli supermicrobe only needs four additional artificial amino acids. It can then create proteins that cannot be made by natural organisms, but it also means that such super-microorganisms cannot obtain living nutrients from nature. People need to feed artificial amino acids in the laboratory.

In this way, scientists can ensure that the monsters they create will not escape to harm the Earth. Without such a security measure, this genetically modified organism will definitely multiply in the natural environment because they are immune to all viruses.
