Application of livestock manure should pay attention to "cold and hot"

Livestock manure refers to feces of pigs, cattle, horses, sheep, rabbits, and poultry, etc. It is rich in organic matter and nutrient elements and is a good organic fertilizer. Because of the different sources of food for livestock and poultry, the manure has “hot and cold”, and it must be treated differently and reasonably during production.

1, pig manure: pig manure rich in nutrients, potassium content is highest, nitrogen and phosphorus content is second only to sheep manure. The texture of pig feces is finer, ammoniated bacteria are more easily decomposed, and the fertilizer efficiency is quicker, which is conducive to the formation of humus and has a good effect on soil improvement. The pig manure is soft and has a strong stamina. It is a warm fertilizer. Suitable for various crops and soil, decomposed pig manure can be used in paddy fields, can also be used for dry soil, can be used as base fertilizer, can also be used as fertilizer.

2, cow dung: cow dung fine texture, high water content, poor ventilation, slow decomposing, fertilizer effect is slow, low fermentation temperature, is a cold fertilizer. In order to accelerate the decomposition, fresh cow dung can be dried slightly, and horse dung or sheep dung can be mixed and stacked to obtain high quality fertilizer. Such as mixed with calcium magnesium phosphate or phosphate rock, fertilizer quality is higher. Cow dung has high carbon content, low nitrogen content, and a large carbon-nitrogen ratio. Attention should be paid to the use of available nitrogen fertilizers during application to prevent nitrogen from composting between microorganisms and crops during fertilizer decomposition. Cow dung is generally used only as base fertilizer.

3, horse manure: horse manure in the high fiber content, fecal quality, loose porous, easy to evaporate moisture, water content, rapid decomposition, in the process of accumulation of heat, high temperature, is a thermal fertilizer. Can be used for nursery seedlings, heat effect is better than pig dung. When composting, adding appropriate amount of horse dung can promote compost maturity. Due to the coarse texture of horse dung, it is particularly suitable for sticky soils and can be used as a modifier for sticky soils.

4, sheep manure: manure nitrogen, calcium, magnesium higher. Sheep feces fever is between horse dung and cow dung. Sheep manure is suitable for all kinds of soil and all kinds of crops, and the effect of increasing yield is good. After decomposing, it can be used as base fertilizer, top dressing and seed fertilizer.

5, rabbit feces: rabbit fecal nitrogen and phosphorus content is relatively high, potassium content is relatively low. The rabbit's fecal carbon-nitrogen ratio is small, it is perishable and decomposes quickly when applied to soil, and it is a thermal fertilizer. It is better to use on phosphorus-deficient soil.

6. Poultry: The nutrient content of the poultry manure is higher than that of the livestock manure. Chicken manure also has the highest nutrient content in poultry manure. Poultry manure decomposition process is easy to produce high temperature, is a thermal fertilizer. Poultry excrement can easily incur underground pests, and uric acid nitrogen cannot be directly absorbed and utilized by crops and must be fully decomposed before application. Poultry manure is best used as top dressing.
