1. Salt Storage Method: To store wet food using salt, spread the moist material thinly in a dry and well-ventilated area within the warehouse. Apply sea salt evenly over the wet grain after dissolving it in water. Regularly turn the grain during storage to ensure even distribution of salt. A 0.75% saline solution can effectively prevent sprouting, while a 0.1% solution helps prevent mold. The higher the moisture content of the wet grain, the stronger the salt concentration should be. With this method, the salt-treated wet grain can be safely stored for up to 10 days.
2. Bleach Storage Method: In the warehouse, pile the wet grain into several small heaps and mix in 1 kg of bleaching powder per 1,000 kg of grain. Alternatively, spread the wet grain and spray it with a 5-times diluted bleaching powder solution. After application, cover the grain with plastic film and seal it. Open the plastic film and turn the grain every 2 to 3 days. This method ensures safe storage for about 10 days and is particularly suitable for storing wet vegetables or similar materials.
3. Vinegar Storage Method: Before storage, clean the wet grain thoroughly to remove any weeds or impurities. Mix in 2 to 2.5 kg of vinegar per 500 kg of grain while spraying it evenly. This method allows the grain to be safely stored for up to 7 days, making it an effective short-term preservation technique.
4. Alum Storage Method: Mix 1 kg of alum with every 100 kg of wet grain. Store the mixture in a cool and well-ventilated area. If necessary, lightly moisten the grain before sealing it with a plastic film. This method offers a high level of safety and is especially effective for storing wheat. It helps reduce spoilage and maintains the quality of the grain during storage.
