Microbial fertilizers play a crucial role in enhancing soil fertility and improving soil structure. Saline-alkali soils typically suffer from low organic matter, poor physical and chemical properties, and an imbalance of harmful ions that negatively affect crop growth. These conditions often lead to poor seedling establishment and reduced productivity.
The application of microbial fertilizers helps improve soil fertility by enhancing its structure and reducing the rate of capillary water movement and ineffective evaporation. This leads to a significant reduction in salt return, making the soil more suitable for plant growth. Additionally, microbial activity increases the availability of calcium in the soil. As microorganisms decompose organic matter, they produce organic acids that can activate adsorbed calcium and promote the exchange of sodium ions in the soil, effectively reducing salinity and alkalinity.
Under the influence of microbial fertilizers, the levels of harmful ions and pH in saline-alkali soils are significantly lowered. The soil's buffering capacity is enhanced, which improves the crop's resistance to salt and alkali stress.
When managing saline-alkali soils, it is essential to apply microbial fertilizers while carefully controlling the use of chemical fertilizers. It is recommended to combine them with high-organic-content organic fertilizers as base fertilizers, thereby reducing the need for chemical inputs. Fertilizers should not be placed too close to seeds to avoid increasing the osmotic pressure of the soil solution, which could hinder germination. Timely and appropriate fertilizer application is also important to prevent overuse. Where possible, practices such as returning straw, planting salt-tolerant green manure, and other sustainable methods can be used to further mitigate the harmful effects of salinity and alkalinity on crops.
1. Why feed dried mealworms?
1) Dried mealworms for birds are a quick and easy way to feed the wildlife. They have an excellent source of protein which when breeding season comes is important, as chicks rely on nutrients that they can only get from insects.
2) Although these are dried, due to the process the mealworms are put through, they do not lose any of their protein or nutrients that they would offer, would they be alive. If soaked for 10-15 minutes the mealworms double in size which is thought to be easier for the fledglings and other birds to eat, and although when the worms are dried they only loose the moisture, so this is a great way to replenish them and get them pulp again
2. How should I feed my mealworms?
We would recommend feeding mealworms from a specialised mealworm feeder, a bird table or even a ground feeding tray. Most birds will eat the mealworms so there will not be any waste.
3. We support OEM
1) We do offer sizes from 100g all the way up to 4kg. If you the 2kg bag or more, this will quality for free delivery
2) We also do live mealworms if they are something you would prefer in sizes of 500g, 1kg and 2kg.
4.How to feed Dried Mealworms and get the most out of them:
1) The only thing that is lost in this drying process is the moisture that is offered by live mealworms but this can be replicated by soaking the dried worms in water before offering them.
2) If you soak them for around 10-15 minutes in warm water they will easily double up in size! Although not necessary it is thought that it is easier for fledglings to eat so could be a good thing to try around Spring into early Summer time to help progress the development of the newborn chicks.
